How to open direct trading account with Haitong

Dear Valued Clients,

We refer to your earlier request with Service Center regarding opening of trading account directly with Haitong Securities. We have finalised the account opening requirements and would like to provide you the detailed steps to proceed with the opening of account. Under this online upfront trading scheme, you get to enjoy the low brokerage rate of 0.15% or minimum HK$50 per contract.

Steps to open a direct online trading account with Haitong are as follows:

1) Fill up 2 forms (as per attached). The forms and terms and conditions are also available at

a. Cash Securities Trading Account

b. Client Information Statement

Notes:

a. For the Cash Securities Trading Account Opening Form, you can choose “Individual Account” or “Joint Account”. For individual account, just sign and fill up name and IC number or passport number (depending on which supporting document you provide).

b. The witnessing will be done by our Jupiter’s authorised personnel.

c. Declaration of Licensed Person will be completed by Haitong .

d. For the Client Information Statement, if it’s a personal account, please tick “The Client” box in item 4 and leave the rest of the boxes blank. Similarly, item 5 should also be left blank.

e. If items 4 and 5 are blank, you answer to Question 6-8 should be “No”.

f. You can choose to receive electronic statement or Mail. Please note that electronic statement is free of charge, but mail statement will be charged HK$10 per month and this will be deducted from your cash account by Haitong.

g. Please check and make sure that item 1, 2 and 3 are duly completed. If you are retired, it is compulsory that you tick the appropriate box in Estimated Net Worth in Item 2.

h. Please make sure you sign in the Client’s Signature box but leave the Date box blank to avoid the situation where the date of receipt and account opening by Haitong exceeds one week (under the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Ordinance, the date must be within one week of the actual date the account is opened).

2) Please make sure you attached the following documents:

a. 1 copy of your IC (front and back on one page) or valid passport with photo.

b. 1 copy of proof of personal address from the most recent 3 months statement (eg utilities bill or bank statement).

3) Once you have completed the above, please send it back to Jupiter Securities at the following address:
